Globalization has set in changes in the world economy. Technology and Engineering
are changing at a faster rate accelerating the economical growth. In order to use knowledge for development, a country must ensure that its people have the right set of knowledge, skills, competencies and values to address the challenges and opportunities of this changing economic scenario. Engineers play a key role not only in solving global problems but also in creating and transferring knowledge. Hence address the challenges of a globalized economy, it is imperative that technical know-how be supplemented with business savvy and social awareness.
The current Engineering Education system has to address the threats of an economy such as diminishing natural resources, innovations, changing technology, environmental problems, blurring of disciplinary boundaries etc. Adequate measures have to be taken to educate the present day engineers to face these challenges. In addition, a collaborative effort among the industries, government and educational institutions is needed to groom future engineers. In this connection, the new wave of information and knowledge compels us to analyze how engineering education can cope with such global challenges to direct social evolution towards a greater human dignity.
The objective of the conference is to,

Besides, it is also aimed at evaluating new methodologies--restructuring the Engineering
Education curriculum and teaching / learning approaches --to face the challenges by mutually beneficial and collaborative efforts. Experts will be invited to give
lead talk and chair the technical sessions.
THE HOST INSTITUTION
PSG College of Technology is a govt. aided autonomous Institution affiliated to
the Anna University, Chennai. It is the first govt. aided private engineering College
in our country started in the year 1951 by the PSG & Sons' Charities. Today,
the Institution has made substantial progress by way of offering under-graduate,
