PSG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY started in the year 1951 by the PSG & Sons‘s Charities Trust is an AICTE approved autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University and ISO 9001 certified. Most of the programmes have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). PSG College of Technology believes in creating and disseminating knowledge and skills in core and frontier disciplines through innovative educational programmes, industrial training, research & consultancy and developing a new cadre of professionals with a high level of competence, deep sense of social commitment and ethics. .A number of educational programmes are offered in Engineering, Information Technology, Management, Science & Technology at Bachelor?s, Master‘s, M.Phil, MS and Ph.D levels on full time and part time formats. PSG College of Technology has currently collaborative arrangements with industries, research laboratories and universities abroad in various areas of joint academic programmes, research and training. PSG College of Technology integrates into its learning system an innovative and contemporary body of knowledge which includes cutting-edge course curriculum, multi-disciplinary learning by way of internships, training industries & centres of excellence and other group learning assignments. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The department has evolved a comprehensive student-centric learning approach, designed to add significant value to the learner?s understanding in an integrated manner through workshops, lab sessions, assignments, IT training, seminars, internships, projects and independent study. The hands-on training offered at PSG Industrial Institute brings in a formal method of familiarizing with the industrial practices along with the educational process; it helps the students to apply their class room knowledge to live industrial situations. There is also quantum value addition in the department through participation of the students and faculty in solving real-life problems of the industry directly through project work and through continuing education programmes for industry participants.
