The Engineering Laboratory is equipped with computer hardware and software to perform geometric modelling and analysis of mechanical systems. The computer hardware constitutes one server and 52 computers. The software available are I-DEAS, ANSYS, ADAMS, VPG and DYNAFORM to perform modelling, mechanism analysis, finite element analysis and design optimization.

The courses offered by the laboratory include static, dynamic and thermal analysis of mechanical systems using finite element analysis software, Computer Aided Mechanism analysis and vibration for the benefit of students and industrial participants. Consultancy work pertaining to the above mentioned area is undertaken in the laboratory.
