Arrpeec - II
The main objectives of ARRPEEC Phase II are as follows:
>>To
produce policy oriented research results for mitigation of
greenhouse gases and other hazardous emissions resulting from fossil
fuel use, through promoting more efficient use of fossil fuels and
the use of bio-fuels;
>>To
mobilize and strengthen competence and capacity in national research
institutions participating in the programme for conducting research
into energy-environment-climate issues;
>>To
disseminate the results of the programme among policy-makers with a
view to making an impact on policy process;
and
>>Capacity
mobilization and strengthening towards promotion of Energy efficient
and environmentally sound technologies and processes (E3STP)
Specific objectives and research problems being addressed in ARRPEEC
II:
>>Identification
of new energy efficient and environmentally sound technologies and
processes (E3STP)
and equipment, and their techno-economical viability
>>Identification
and promotion of technical, policy and capacity mobilization and
enhancement related issues to introduction of these E3STP in selected
industries
>>Identification
of the major sources of pollution generation and prospects for waste
and energy minimization
>>Review
of major production processes in the selected industrial sector in
terms of process efficiencies and potential for energy saving and
pollution abatement
