Identified Industrial Sectors

The project formulation workshop held at AIT in October, 1998 with the participating NRIs, and the national policy and environmental experts identified the following industries as the target sector, namely:

India: Textile, Tea processing, Foundry and Brick-making.

China: Textile, Brick-making and Ceramics and Foundry

Philippines: Brick-making, Desiccated coconut and Foundry.

Sri Lanka: Tile and ceramics, Tea processing and Desiccated coconut.

Vietnam: Brick-making and ceramics, Textile and Tea processing.
