TIFAC Core, Advanced Machine Tool Research Centre, Virtual Instrumentation Centre, Centre for Nano-technology, Centre for Robotics, Centre for Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Software, Danfoss Centre of Excellence in Climate and Energy, and Centre of Excellence for Welding Engineering and Technology are a few to mention. In addition to its academic pursuits, PSG CT has a strong industrial presence. The PSG Industrial Institute operates in-campus manufacturing units for machine tools, pumps, and motors, along with off-campus foundry unit. PSG CT's collaboration with industry, research institutes, alumni, and entrepreneurs underscores its commitment to holistic education, innovation, and industry relevance.
The PSG Center for Academic Research and Excellence was founded in October, 2015 by the PSG & Sons Charities Trust with a mission to promote teaching excellence in all the institutions under the Trust. CARE is committed to nurturing learner-centric pedagogical approaches that enhance learning outcomes and stimulate discussions and introspection on teaching methodologies. This commitment is realized through a wide range of initiatives, encompassing workshops, seminars, and additional engagement endeavors. CARE encourages research activities that contribute to the enhancement of teaching quality within PSG institutions. The center supports faculty members in conducting research related to the teaching-learning process and facilitates the dissemination of research findings to promote continuous improvement in educational practices.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, started in 1951 with its dedicated body of well-qualified faculty, technical staff and students, is committed to be the treasure house of the state-of-the-art knowledge in the discipline of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. State of the art computational and experimental facilities enable the department to undertake basic and applied research and provide support to R&D organizations. The department is actively involved in undertaking sponsored research activities from various funding organizations like CSIR, DRDO, DST, AICTE, UGC, SERB and the like. The department plays a crucial role in advancing technologies and addressing global challenges related to energy, mobility, automation and Sustainability.
