Research Conclave 2025

The Fourth National Level Research Conclave 2025 (RC2025), organized by PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, was held on May 15 and 16, 2025, with the theme, “Advancing Societally Relevant Applications of Knowledge through Scientific Research.” The conclave was conceptualized to provide a dynamic platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and dissemination of cutting-edge research across science and engineering.

This vibrant event brought together over 300 participants, including postgraduate students, PhD scholars, undergraduate students, faculty members, and professionals from industry(PSG Tech: 268 (ME/M.Tech: 157; MCA: 80; BE/B.Tech: 21; Ph.D. Scholars: 10); External Participants: 35). Registration, paper submissions, and the peer-review process were efficiently managed through the official website: https://www.psgtech.edu/rc2025

The conclave received substantial financial backing from various sources. PSG Institutions generously covered publication charges amounting to Rs 4.3 lakhs. Additional funding included a grant of Rs 50,000 from the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Government of India, and Rs 1.4 lakhs from corporate sponsors. These contributions supported various aspects of the event, including printing, resource person honoraria, logistics, and refreshments. In addition, the registrations kit for a worth of Rs 40,000 and the cash prize of Rs 96,000 were also from the sponsors.

The event was convened under the leadership of:

  • Mr. V. Venkataraman, Assistant Professor, Dept of Biotechnology

The conclave’s operations were coordinated by various sub-committees comprising department heads and faculty members. An advisory committee, featuring Deans, HoDs, and external experts from academia, industry, and research institutions, provided strategic guidance.

The conclave was formally inaugurated on May 15, 2025, with Mr. Manoj Kumar K., Scientist-F, Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre, Ahmedabad, as the Chief Guest. Dr. K. Prakasan, Principal, PSG College of Technology, presided over the ceremony

The event featured five thought-provoking keynote sessions delivered by eminent experts:

  • Dr. D. Sundar, Director & Biocon Chair, IBAB, Bengaluru (Bioinformatics and Synthetic Biology)
  • Dr. S. Sivakumar, Director, Pasteur Institute of India (Biotechnology)
  • Dr. Vinosh Babu James, Director, Technical Standards, Qualcomm International Inc. Bengaluru (Evolution of Wireless Technologies)
  • Dr. P. Mallikarjuna Rao, AGM – R&D, JSW Steel Plant, Salem (Research Opportunities in Steel Industries)

From these, 78 high-quality papers were selected for publication in the Proceedings of RC2025 by Taylor and Francis, with ISBN and DOI. Scopus indexing of the papers will also be attempted. The publication work is in progress.

The conclave concluded with valedictory function on 16th May 2025 with Mr.R.Ragavan, Chief Executive Officer, Oriental Plant & Equipments Pvt Ltd (OPEL), Coimbatore as chief guest. The best presentations under each domain were awarded with cash prizes in the presence of sponsors. The certificates were also distributed to all the participants.

The event demonstrated how scientific review, when nurtured through community-driven forums, can contribute to the development of sustainable and impactful solutions for society.
